Unbridled Creativity, Releasing Your Creative Muse
A Lazy Muse Hinders Unbridled Creativity?
Contrary to popular belief, unbridled creativity belongs not to the few, but to all. Your creative muse is not dead, but he or she may be lazy, sleeping or untapped. Now we know that few authors experience unlimited creative genius. However, all writers have a capacity to improve imaginative thinking.
Your creative muse is like a mental muscle in waiting. If not forced into routine exercise, his or her powers of innovation and imaginative deteriorate. Whereas an active imagination produces quality original content, a lazy muse cannot even meet average standards. Poorly-trained minds are no more effective than flabby leg muscles. Neither one can run a victorious race.
Unleashing operative creativity involves reaping a harvest from the thinking powers within your creative muse. How it works is simple:
Establish a routine of vigorous exercise wherein your creative thinking processes is not permitted waste.
Herein, I will teach you how to reap creative yield from your naturally lazy muse.
Unbridled Creativity, Take Control of Your Creative Thinking
Releasing creative thinking is no small matter. Exercise never comes easy, even for those who daily stretch the limits. But if your goal is about production of original content and story, if your ambition is to write science fiction that exceeds the mundane, then you must adopt an aggressive resistance to a lazy way of thinking.
Activate the following processes, and you will reap an abundance of new writing resources.
1) Creativity Released, Opening the Floodgates of Knowledge
Knowledge is power: A true statement, proven and necessary to any writer. How do you get it? Read broadly and read often. Take in as much knowledge as possible and from as many decent sources as you find available. Read carefully written quality works, but also learn from the poorly written texts that seem unfit for publication on digital or paper. Superior examples open your sense of wonder. Shoddy models heightened your eye for error. Every new tidbit of incoming information stretches and strengthen the mental muscle that you call a muse.
2) Creativity Released, Every Day A Host of New Activities
On what do you spend your time? Creativity follows an arty challenge, but clever activities need not always involve rigorous processes. Although it may appear a mindless action, even doodling can fool a lazy muse into functional exercise. Creativity unbridled comes from daily practice not limited to depth or degree.
This process of practical learning gears in a way that awakens and triggers more profound thought in a sleeping muse. Take a walk. Watch a movie. Read a book. Chat with a friend. Get your hair cut. Follow up by putting on paper a word-image of the walk, the film, the book or whatever it is that the activity triggered in your muse. He likes attention. Give her something to her something to work with, and she will wave page after page of ideas and concepts. Ignore him at your own risk.
3) Creativity Unbridled, Working Your Five Senses and More
Let nothing hinder your pen. When all else fails, focus on working your five senses. Creating images is only one component of quality writing. You must practice working with all five perceptions and more. Do this daily:
Using a different sense for each, write five complete sentences. Make each sentence address a different topic. Avoid vague adjectives and adverbs. Challenge your creative muse to expand the concepts. Example:
- Sight: A thin, gray-skinned elephant floated in the wind.
- Smell: Her taste buds watered over the reek of soured sewer lemons.
- Hearing: The central air compression rattled to the tune of Bad Moon Rising by Creedence Clearwater Revival.
You see here what I mean by the phrase “five senses and more.” Strive to make the sentences in this exercise expand on real-world expectations. Break the limitations of self-discipline. Give your creative muse unlimited liberty. In time, he or she will strive to make bold impressions.

4) Creativity Unleashed, Write With The Freedom of a Newborn A Child
Imagine the excitement of a young muse, filled with ideas, packed with knowledge and muscle, and liberated to write from his or her core. You provide the experiences, the emotional background, and physical awareness. The muse offers the ideas, dreams and imagination.
But from where do you draw the experiences, emotions or physical awareness. I can imagine the thrill of sky diving. My imagination may provide concepts beyond the reality of the dive, but think how much more responsiveness comes through practical experience. Hands-on involvement with external activities enhances your storytelling skills. To write like a newborn child, you should engage in new happenings.
5) Creativity Released, Include The Impossible
Unbridled creativity takes hold of the impossible. In the realm of science and fantasy, logic with the stories will often embrace the absurd. However, a concept of the fantastic does not mean that the story ignores rational reasoning, but instead the associated concepts follow a lucidity that pushes popular argument into and past the sphere of the probable.
Normal defines the mundane. The impossible defines controlled insanity. The lazy muse tends to work within the confines of the normal. The creativity unleashed by aggressive inspiration tends to include the impossible.
Only one thing can keep a writer from harvesting the fruits of an independent muse: Failure to respond to the unction. In this last instruction, I ask you to exercise the power of your muse’s incredible probabilities. Each day, you should take a few moments in the study of some common object. Perhaps a bottle of fish oil in the bathroom cabinet. Maybe a red ink pen on your desktop. Your cellphone. The bag of Halls cough drops. The sunglasses in your shirt pocket.
All that matters is how you make use of the selected object. The further into the bizarre that you can push this exercise, the stronger will grow your muse. Example:
In my wife’s purse resides Harry Hairball and his family of dust bunnies. Their life revolves around what is available with my wife’s purse. On Saturdays, they go skating on Mirror Lake. On Fridays, they hang around the side pouch waiting a turn on the Zip Line.
Harry Hairball lives an impossible life. Or does he?
