Secret to Restored Article Life: Using Links to Draw New Readers
There is no secret to restoring article life. Drawing new readers to old content is as simple as link control and author resource adjustment. We live in a fast paced world. Everyone looks for a quick fix. Even devoted readers operate on a limited timetable and a selective content method. Without special prompting and help, few new readers will ever descend into the murk of your archive article base.
Are you tired of making pennies per article? Is your archive hit list limited to fifty or sixty reads per month? The following pointers can help you change that.
1. Edit your author resource box. Most article submission sites permit two links. Use them wisely, and change them often. Each new article should use at least one link to prompt readers toward your previous submissions. I said previous submissions, not previous submission sites. Do not point at your author biography, point at the ancient and dead articles. The object is to restore life to past works, to lift the reader level, to generate repetitious income.
2. Produce an article series and link them one to the next. If you still hold rights to your material, locate an author’s submission site that you have never used. Punch in a lead series headline. Link that article back to other components of the same series but that are located on other submission sites. On the following day, and each day thereafter until the material is exhausted, punch in a new headline article and follow the same linking pattern.
3. Expound on information that is associated to your links. Give sufficient detail as to the nature of the linked article. For example: if a current article deals with “The Bible Response To Bitterness”, include a link and a short invitation that will encourage your reader to access your previous article titled “Releasing Bitterness Through Forgiveness”.
4. List on many article submission sites.
5. Also perform occasional in-quote title searches. I have found, on several instances, that people have posted my articles under their name and without including the resource box. It is not mean to protect yourself.
The secret to restoring article life is not complicated. Many writers have forgotten the value of links. Remember: other article resource centers will sometimes pickup on your articles. If they all point back to the same resource, you are losing valuable hits. Keep those old articles alive. Get them read. Restore the hit factor. An article that dies with twenty hits is a poor source of income. Sit aside some time for marketing.
