Tanis and Sera, you know these two, right,  take the twelve to Khardine. But how long can they remain in the new capital of the Transcend? You know it. In no short order of time, the group heads out to the Inner Stars. It is a meeting with an new ally, the Scipian Empress, Diana. Or is that merely a pipe-dream.

With the Trisilieds Kingdom, the Hegemony of Worlds, and the Nietzschean Empire all aligned with the Orion Guard—not to mention a civil war brewing in the Transcend—they will need all the help they can get to secure the Inner Stars.

But Empress Diana has her own plans for the Inner Stars, and while they may dovetail with the Transcend’s for now, they may not always do so…

Very good book. This is (of course) a book in a series. The Aeon 14 universe is among my favorite. It seems whenever M.D. Cooper writes with no help from anyone it turns out good. The characters in this are the ones that made this universe great. I would have liked to have heard from Bob more but this book incorporates a lot of the best characters and introduces another 1 or 2. If you’ve never read the original story about the intrepid and Tanis, how they came from the past and go to the future, read that first. I almost wish I had not read it so I could read it again. All in all….I like this book.

…Let’s say 4.5, if I could do half stars. The pacing is stellar. Plenty of action to keep the excitement up. The multiple story lines are handled well, and the characters continue to evolve. There is a lot of tech in this series, but Mr. Cooper has found a good balance of explaining it just enough so the reader gets the concept, without hurting our brains. I always look forward to the next Aeon 14 book, but this one has left me even more excited than usual.

I look at the night skies, at the stars and planets, and I dream of what will someday be humanity’s home. I imagine a future where we have stretched out into the stars, discovering new worlds, and new beauty. These dreams have come to life in the series of books coming to life in the world of Aeon 14.

When I began writing about a distant future--in the 42nd century--a woman named Tanis showed up. Her strength and drive took over my stories and I couldn't help but write about her. Tanis lives in a future where there is no faster than light travel and no teleporters. However, humans have created structures as large as moons, and have shifted planets. They share their minds with AI and talk to one another almost telepathically.
